How to create other pages or link to existing ones

You can't just create a new page. You have to start off by creating a link.

While editing a page, type '[' (square bracket) twice, then type a title for your new page, then type ']' twice. Your link should look like this...

[[My New Page]]

Save the page you are editing and the title should appear as a red link text. You can then click that link to bring up the new page.

You can link to other pages, by doing the same thing with the title of the page you wish to link to.

This sounds complicated and confusing, but it isn't really. So, for example, you want to add a recipe for Pavlova. Click on the RECIPE link on the WELCOME PAGE. Write [[Pavlova]]. Click Save. Now click on the link you have just made, that says Pavlova and now write your recipe!

How to create a link to another website

Go to the website that you want to link to.

Copy the URL (the web address) from the box at the top of your page.

Go back to the Wiki and the page you want to add it to. Click Edit

Add the URL in single square brackets.

For example....[http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/]

It will appear as [1] which is still a valid link, but you want it to say what it is, don't you?

So all you have to do is put the title of your link at the end of the link - make sure you leave a space between the link and the title.

For example.....[http://www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/ NHS Direct]

And that will now appear as NHS Direct Which is a more recognisable link.
