This time another wonderful lady took my virtual hand and helped me to go to L'viv in Ukraine. Our first attempt failed, but after a second go (following a hysteroscopy and D&C in the same clinic) we found ourselves with twin babies, a boy and a girl.  There is much to discuss with twins and a twin pregnancy, but I'll save that for another page!  Our lives are complete and we are very, very happy.

Where to begin? I'm a 55 year old mum of 2 year old twins. I have 3 older children, 25, 23 and 18. I had no trouble conceiving the first 3 and all my pregnancies were fine too. But I was 45 when I met my second husband and time was running out for me. We probably wouldn't have even considered children at such an early stage in our relationship, but I fell pregnant accidentally and it just seemed right for both of us.

Very sadly we lost our little one at 12 weeks in a truly horrific miscarriage. After that, it seemed only natural to try again. We lost a second at 9 weeks and then found conception difficult. I was put on clomid, but it was not successful and we had to come to terms with the fact that we needed outside help. Of course, the years had flown by and now it was either impossible or extremely expensive to consider ivf in the UK.

So I looked online. What a godsend the internet is. I very quickly found the Fertility Friends website and considered going abroad for IVF.
