My son, now age 6, has always suffered from these from a very young toddler. I did find that chocolate or over excitement was the trigger for them, so we avoided them as much as possible even down to not telling him which day we was going on holiday (lol) just so we got a peaceful night's sleep before the drive. This is what the expert said and it did help us.

*Night terrors are common in children aged three to eight years old. A child who experiences night terrors may scream, shout and thrash around in extreme panic, and may even jump out of bed. Their eyes are open, but they are not fully awake.
