This was the first soya milk I tried, it was fairly well tolerated by Vosene when her ready brek was made up with it. It smells faintly like cabbage but is not altogether unpleasant, but can't imagine drinking a glass of it. Possibly only good for cooking with. I'll pop back and revisit this review when I have tried other unsweetened soya milks.
I have tried these in both size 3 and 5 after everyone raved about them. They were okay, not as spectacular as people make out. They disagreed with my daughter's sensitive skin, and they were not slim fitting at all, in fact it was quite difficult to gauge how wet they were without sticking a finger in. The size 5s were fine on my boys, we didn't have any leaks.

==Teresal's Review==

We have used Pampers a lot with our daughter and we have personally found them the best, Meredith seemed to get a rash if we tried other brands.

==Mad Margaret's Review==

I would agree that they are by far the best quality out there. I used Lidl (still do) as they are cheap and with both my twins having fairly solid stools it's not difficult to get by with cheaper. But at night, we found Pampers were the best. Eventually, we started buying cheaper in a larger size for night time - but would still agree that if you can afford Pampers, then go for it.

==Kerry's Review==

I too generally agree they are by far the best.I did find with my daughter her nappies started to smell really strong of urine,after just a short period of time.So we started to buy the Pampers simple range,and not only are they cheaper but the smell went too.

==Lylet's Review==

I love Pampers, other nappies are just not as good. I didn't find the New Baby range to be that great with our boys, but with my daughter they were the only thing that contained that pesky breast fed baby poo! The Active Fit range is wonderful, they are so slim fitting and also the most absorbent.

I have bottlefed both my children, for some it just feels right. Your health visitor and other medical staff will advise you on breast feeding as it is better for the baby and encourages weight loss in the mother.

It is completely your decision, you have to do what feels right for you and your baby. You may well have started out breast feeding, as I did, but then with a poor latching baby moved to bottle feeding. Perhaps it has been your decision to bottle feed from the start.

====Equipment You Need For Bottle Feeding====

* Bottles, around 6 (I would recommend)

* Steriliser

* Tongs

* Teat brush

* Formula milk

* Expressed milk

* Jug or bottle warmer

Have a good look around, there are many different bottles that you can purchase these days. Speak to your friends and find out what they used and get some good recommendations before you purchase any. Also check that the teat is age appropriate.

With my son we must have bought at least 4 different brands over the space of 4 months. Trying to find the right one for your child can be very expensive.

All brands have different teat shapes and texture's, for my son who had problems with the sucking reflex muscle, we found that a flat shaped teat was best for him.

====Making Up a Formula Bottle====

All your equipment must be washed first and then sterilised before making a bottle up. So once this is done and you have cleared and cleaned a work surface, start by boiling the kettle. Place your bottle on a clean surface and remove the top, leaving the teat covered by the lid, fill your bottle with just boiled water to the required amount and replace the lid. You then need to follow the manufacturing instructions on how to prepare a formula feed. To cool your feed, place the bottle with the lid tightly secured into a jug of cold water until it is at your desired temperature.

Here's a link for some further information on making a formula feed

[http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/Pages/making-up-infant-formula.aspx NHSCHOICES]

====Which Formula To Buy====

There are many different brands of formula, and all children are different, even my two had different brands to each other. Sometimes it is just a case of seeing which is best for your child.

Some children may need special formula milk. If you have any concerns regarding any allergies or if your child seems to be unsettled then ask your Health Visitor or GP for some advice.

====Making Up an Expressed Milk Bottle Feed====

As above, all your equipment must be wash and sterilised first! Start by pouring your expressed milk into the bottle and then place the bottle with the lid tightly secured into a jug of hot water to warm the feed, check it regularly until it reaches the required temperature.

Make sure you test the temperature of the milk before giving it to your child, you can do this by squirting a small amount onto the inside area of your wrist, if it is too hot then place the bottle with the lid on it in a jug of cold water until it is cool enough to feed your baby.

Never reheat a milk feed or warm it up in a microwave as this can cause hot spots in the milk and can scold your baby's mouth.

We used these when both my children were newborns,and found them to be brilliant. However once they moved up to the next size,I found that the material used to make them wasn't as soft,and both my children started to get sore marks around the top of the legs,even though they did fit well.
==Lylet's Review==

With my boys I found Huggies to be brilliant when newborn, but like Kerry says not so great once we'd progressed to size 3 up. They'd either leak or fall apart. I tried them with my daughter but found they leaked lots, even in size 1.

==Teresal's Review==

We have used Pampers a lot with our daughter and we have personally found them the best, Meredith seemed to get a rash if we tried other brands.

==Mad Margaret's Review==

==Kerry's Review==

I too generally agree they are by far the best.I did find with my daughter her nappies started to smell really strong of urine,after just a short period of time.So we started to buy the Pampers simple range,and not only are they cheaper but the smell went too.

==Lylet's Review==

I love Pampers, other nappies are just not as good. I didn't find the New Baby range to be that great with our boys, but with my daughter they were the only thing that contained that pesky breast fed baby poo! The Active Fit range is wonderful, they are so slim fitting and also the most absorbent.

I love my Kari Me Carrier, I honestly would not have coped doing the nursery one without it. A month before I was due to give birth to Vosene one of my very lazy twin boys was still not walking and the other had only been walking for 8 weeks, so I knew I was going to have to still push them to nursery in the pushchair. I was entirely unwilling to buy a triple pushchair as we are already overrun with them (we're now at 4 pushchairs already!) so some sort of carrier seemed the logical solution. My other half wanted to buy a Bjorn Baby structured carrier, but I didn't feel comfortable putting a 2 week old baby in one of those as they don't seem to be very supportive and babies look uncomfortable in them. I read a few reviews and the Kari Me seemed to be the best one.

The Kari Me is a long piece of fabric that comes in a variety of colours and has a matching bag to store it in. As the material has a bit of give in it (it's jersey style cotton) it moulds around baby and is comfortable when tied around you. If you buy it when you are still pregnant don't bother trying to tie it as you will think that there won't be enough material to hold a baby and tie it up - I promise you there will, I am overweight and have quite a big bust and it does up with plenty more room. Tying the fabric looks really complicated but once you've done it a couple of times it really is a doddle. I've found it really comfortable for even quite long walks pushing 5 stone double pushchair (that includes the weight of the pushchair - my toddlers aren't that heavy!).

In the instructions there are 5 ways of carrying a baby with it and it advertises that it is suitable up to 33lbs. The carrys are:

'''Baby facing you''' - Use this carry until baby can support head well or after this if they need a sleep. Vosene loved this carry and often fell asleep on the nursery run, even if I was crouched down trying to put on toddlers shoes!.

'''Baby facing out''' - Vosene loves this carry, particularly if we're walking through the park as she is a nosy crow!

'''Baby in a breastfeeding position''' - I've only tried this once and it seemed like it would only be possible if you had pert boobs, so I gave up.

'''Baby sat on your hip''' - I haven't tried this yet - I'll update as soon as I do!

'''Baby on your back''' - This is supposed to be the carry for when they get heavier (i.e. up to 33lbs), there is no way that this would work - I tried with one of my sons when the Kari Me was first delivered, I think he was around 25lb at the time and the fabric is far too stretchy, he can just twist out of it!

I have only really used it for the first two carries, I will say that now Vosene is 15lbs I think she is getting a bit heavy for the material, because it has a bit of stretch in the material she seems to wriggle out of it a bit more. It may just mean that I need to progress to the hip carry (I'll update this review when I try) - or that I need to buy a either a structured carrier or a sling with less stretch.

They retail at £45 brand new, I bought mine from ebay second hand for £30 which suggests they hold their resale value well.

Lylet: Excellent Carrier, would definitely recommend to a friend!

I knew I wanted to be a mother around the age of 14, however when I realised at 16 that I was gay I thought that parenthood was off the table. After much teenage experimentation with girls and a couple of long term (long term in teenage years – read 6 months!) girlfriends I started a relationship with my best friend – who was a man. The relationship lasted 2 years and and was complete hell – he didn’t treat me very well and I was deeply unhappy. If I’m entirely honest with myself I think the only reason I stuck around was grasping for normality and the idea of having children one day. When it all came to an end my only thought was that it was my last chance at having children (at the ripe old age of 23). At the time, the thought of fertility treatment and donor sperm seemed like a complete fantasy – I’d have to be rich to afford IVF.

I then met my current partner and fell in love quickly, bought a house, a dog, settled down. Everything was perfect – except for one thing. She didn’t want children. In fact, she really thought it would be unfair bringing children into the world knowing they would be picked on and would never do it. Fast forward four years, attitudes have changed, less people raise eyebrows when you tell them your other half is a woman, more and more same sex couples in the media are having children. This coupled with my partners biological clock kicking in (Yay!) meant that we revisited the subject and we both agreed that we would try to have children.

Our original intention was for my partner to carry one child and me the other with around a 2 year age gap. What actually happened was she had 6 failed treatments over 18 months (an abandoned IUI, 2 negative IUIs, IVF which resulted in an early miscarriage, a negative FET and an abandoned IVF) so on our next IVF we chose to have 2 blastocyst embryos transferred (at this point I think we’d have had 16 transferred if it meant we could have a baby). This resulted in our wonderful twin boys, both born naturally at full term for twins – For the purposes of this wiki I will call them ‘The Biter’ and ‘Saurus’.

As it had taken such a long time to have our boys – 2 and a half years including the pregnancy – We decided to go back to the clinic when the boys were 9 months. We really didn’t want too much of an age gap, we thought if we left it too long the boys might be too much of a handful and we might not bother, so best to try again before we realised we are lunatics. I was incredibly lucky to conceive on our first IVF attempt using the same donor sperm and our baby daughter was born (I’ll call her Vosene), 19 months after our boys were. I would say our family is now complete – however we do have four vials of sibling sperm on ice burning a hole in our pockets.

Life with 3 under 2s is very busy – particularly when some days it means I have changed 6 nappies before 9a.m. – but it is worth it. Our children are so funny and make life entertaining to say the least. They may well be picked on when they are bigger but we see it as our job to give them the tools to deal with it.
