They start you off on the maternity ward, getting you to keep track of when the babies feed, wee and poo. I was excited by this important task, particularly since I'm a bit of a data-geek, so when they let us go home I continued to track everything in minute detail.

It was 18 days before I got bored and the babies settled into a bit of a routine, but here's a graph showing some of the trouble we had.

* Ben's activities are represented by blue, Emily by pink.
* The big round blobs are sized to represent the amount of milk taken from the breast.

Generally Emily was particularly bad at ''latching'', so the pink breast feed blobs tail off around 2nd March, with faltering attempts to give her a chance after that. You can see that Benedict took up the slack. DW expressed milk for a while, to make sure that Emily got the good nutrients (and to take off some of the pressure).

You can also see a increasing trend in amount drunk from the bottle over time.

In the end, it worked out quite nicely with Emily drinking from bottles and Benedict from the breast. We shared the effort of getting up to look after the twins and both got to spend time with our little cherubs.
